Výchova a vzdělání kněží v diecézních seminářích v Čechách ve druhé polovině 18. a v první polovině 19. století
Abstract: The author of the essay describes the changes and importance of clergy education in Czech lands in the period from the 16th to the 19th centuries, and outlines the existing knowledge of the topic in the Czech historiography. The article summarizes the significance of the Council of Trent and subsequent reforms of priestly education in the 18th and 19th centuries in the Hapsburg monarchy and points out general requirements for priests and the changes in their education in the Czech lands during this period. Firstly, it deals with the Prague archbishop seminary in particular, the faculty of theology and also diocesan seminaries. Primary interest is focused on the diocesan theological institute and the seminary in České Budějovice in 1803–1848. The essay treats the changes of the institution, its inner procedures and economic background; it also describes the structure of the teaching staff and seminary students.
